The laws discussed argon the antitrust laws, which this idea will break good deal and inform. This paper will pardon the research d mavin to explain why the antitrust laws were direct in place and how they print the business world.\n\nIn the United Stated there argon several laws that are use and intended to further fair, balanced, and competitive practices. These laws are called the antitrust laws. They rest of the Sherman antitrust tour, the Clayton Antitrust dissemble, and the federal official Trade Commission Act. These Acts or laws are used to curb businesses competitive and prices at a fair and reasonable personify to consumers.(Bovee and Thill,2014) Many one-on-ones questions whether these laws are effectual and if so how? To answer that question, one must first agnize the antitrust acts and what that is mea nt to do.\nThere are three major federal official antitrust laws: The Sherman Antitrust Act, The Clayton Act, and The federal official Trade Commission Act. The Sherman Antitrust Act which was enacted in 1890 was created to allow competitors from fixing prices, rigging bids, and dividing up customers (Bovee and Thill). The Act made it mislabeled for competitors to work together or agree with contracts, unite companies and conspiracies to control a uniform industry, also called a monopoly. Competitors violating the Sherman Act are punished by the Department of Justice as criminal felonies. As a maximum sentence individual can be sentenced to 10 years in prison house and a million sawhorse fine, and companies a one degree centigrade billion dollars fine (Antitrust Enforcement and the Consumer (n.d.)). The Clayton Act enacted in 1914, which was then amend in 1950. This act was created to prohibit companies from lessening competition through mergers and acquisitions.
